Meet the Doctor
Meet Dr. Hunter K. Woods -- the name, talent and guiding force of Woods Orthodontics, and the dedicated creator of strong, lasting, beautiful smiles.
Dr. Woods in an expert in his craft. A graduate of UVA, the WVU School of Dentistry, and the WVU Department of Orthodontics, he is exceptionally well educated. A member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Virginia Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Virginia Dental Association, he is extraordinarily well qualified. But, for Dr. Woods, the practice of orthodontics goes far beyond education and qualification.
"Our logo states that a great smile is in our nature,' notes Dr. Woods. "There's no doubt whatsoever about that. Creating healthy, radiant smiles is not just what I do. ..it's who I am."
And what of Dr. Woods' other passions? He enjoys golf, tennis, travel and college football. But most of all, he is a quiet, committed family man. Dr. Woods reveals his own contented smile — the smile of a man who has found both professional and personal fulfillment. Great smiles are definitely in his nature!
Meet Our Team
Started with the practice: May 2007
Linda handles the financial aspects of the practice such as filing insurance, financial contracts and collections. She also handles payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivables and assists Dr. Woods with day to day operations. She has also worked as an orthodontic technician and treatment coordinator.
Her favorite thing about working for Woods Orthodontics is getting to know the patients and seeing the difference we make in their smile.
Linda is married and has three children. She received a technical certificate in Dental Assisting from Boise State University. She enjoys exercising, spending time with her family, and loves to travel. She is also a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Office Manager/Financial Coordinator
Linda McCloskey, CDA
Started with the practice: May 1997
Marcia is the senior assistant that manages our clinic and handles the patient flow to ensure our patients are given the best of care. She also trains and mentors the new orthodontic technicians along with handling the inventory and supply purchasing.
Her favorite thing about working for Woods Orthodontics is talking with the patients and parents and enjoys working with the staff.
Marcia is married with one daughter and step daughter. She has two grandchildren that she loves spending time with. She is also a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and of course her faithful dog, Dixie.
Started the practice: June 2013
Courtney handles assisting the doctor with new patient exams, and explaining the treatment and setting up financial arrangements. She is the liaison for the practice guiding parents and patients through treatment. She is also an orthodontic technician.
Her favorite thing about working for Woods Orthodontics is being the Treatment Coordinator.
"I am the very first person the patient sees upon beginning treatment. I strive to connect with the patient on a personal level. I want and enjoy making their first appointment a positive experience rather than making it just about what their orthodontic treatment plan will consist of. I have had the opportunity to see and be a part of numerous patient cases from the very beginning all the way to when they are getting their braces off. It’s a rewarding feeling to see how happy a patient is when they get their braces off and see their new smile".
In Courtney’s spare time, she enjoys taking her dog Luna on hikes. She loves going to concerts. People who know her best would consider her a concert junkie. Her thrill for a good adventure ranges from hiking at different locations all the way to skydiving. Courtney believes in living life to the fullest, so you are never looking back on it one day with regrets. She is always up for a new adventure.

Karen greets patients at the front desk, answers phone calls and schedule appointments. She also coordinates appointments with other doctor offices.
Her favorite thing about working with Woods Orthodontics is meeting and greeting the patients and parents.
Karen is from Sugar Grove, VA. She has two children and four grandchildren. She likes hanging out with friends and family. Karen enjoys being outside, the beach, baking and watching college basketball and football.

Melissa greets patients at the front desk, answers phone calls and schedule appointments. She also verifies insurance coverage and coordinates appointments with other doctor offices.
Her favorite thing about working with Woods Orthodontics is that she enjoys the smile on the patients faces once their braces come off.
Melissa is married and has two daughters and one granddaughter. She enjoys spending time with family. She is also a Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Jill fabricates retainers and small orthodontic appliances. She also trims orthodontic models for case study.
Her favorite thing about working with Woods Orthodontics is Teamwork! Our co-workers are one important thing to Jill. Their hard work and watching out for each other and willingness to help wherever needed. Jill loves her job as a lab technician, she finds it very interesting but busy work. Jill feels the support of the team makes the job enjoyable during stressful times.
Jill has been married 43 years to Dennis W. Fitchko. They have a daughter , Lee Ann and a son, Darren. Both of her children are married. She has two lovely grandchildren that make her heart grow bigger. Jill has taught herself to paint and sew during her spare time. She also enjoys being able to help out her family and friends any way possible.
Started with practice: August 2000
Jennifer removes the orthodontic appliances and reveals the beautiful new smile. She takes impressions for retainers as well as fabricates Essix (clear retainers) and bonded retainers. She works one on one with the patient doing adjustments on the braces and completes procedures as the doctor directs them.
Her favorite thing about working with Woods Orthodontics is that it is very rewarding seeing patients from the beginning to the end of treatment. The results are amazing. She also loves seeing how the difference we make in patients smile gives them confidence.
Jennifer is happily married. They have three adult children and four grandchildren . Jennifer loves to attend church. Other hobbies are fishing, gardening, camping and playing cornhole.
Orthodontic Technician/Appliance Removal
Started with practice: May 2016
Mariah works directly with the patient completing procedures as the doctor directs. Her duties include wire adjustments, x-rays, impressions and pour ups. She gives instructions on oral hygiene and how to take care of the appliances as well as updates the parents on the treatment given.
Her favorite thing about working with Woods Orthodontics is that she loves getting to meet everyone and watching the younger kids grow up.
Mariah is married with two children. She loves spending time with her family, hiking and riding motorcycles.

Taylor loves to learn new things and to travel to different places. She loves animals, especially her lab, Dixie. In her spare time, Taylor loves cooking and baking.
